Revolutionary Girl Utena is the story of a girl named Utena who was saved by a prince after both of her parents died. After she met him, she decided to become a prince herself and save damsels in distress. She got a ring with a rose signet on it, and for a while she thought it to be an engagement ring. But the ring is actually for allowing people who wear rings with the rose signet on it to duel in an arena with swords, training sticks, ect. There can only be two people dueling, and each of them has to wear a rose in the chest pockets of their shirts/jackets. The person to get their rose chopped off of their chest loses, and the winner gets the rose bride. The rose bride is wanted by both men and women, when they posses the rose bride, they have a power to enter a floating, upside down castle. When someone possesses the rose brise, they are considered to be engaged to them. Jury (another girl), Miki (a boy), Touro, and Sajouni are each striving against Utena so they can be engaged to the rose bride (aka Himamiya). A power that comes with entering the floating castle is that they have the power to bring the world revolution. Therefor, the show is called Revolutionary Girl Utena.
