Ranma 1/2 is the story of a 16 yr. old boy named Ranma Saotome who's life is anything but normal. Ranma and his father, Genma, had been on a long and dangerous training journey training ground with springs in China called Jusenkyo. The springs just happened to be cursed causing antone who falls in those springs to turn into whoever (or whatever) last drowned there. Genma fell into the spring of drowned panda, making him turn into a panda whenever splashed with cold water. Ranma fell into the spring of drowned girl, turning him into a girl whenever splashed with cold water. Hot water reverses the effect... until next time. But Ranma has another problem... he was engaged to a girl named Akane, who is also 16, without either of them having a say in the matter. At first the two 16 yr. olds hated each other... but as time passed... the two fall in love and eventually get married. There is another person who loves Akane, and his name is Ryoga Hibiki. He, like Ranma has a curse from Jusenkyo... except every time he gets splashed with cold water... he turns into a little black piglet. Kuno is another problem... he doesn't know that boy Ranma and girl Ranma are one and the same, and loves girl Ranma and Akane. Ranma along with his early fiancee and his curse, has another problem... he has two more fiancees! Shampoo, a 16 yr. old Chinese amazonian who can't keep her hands off Ranma, has to marry him by laws of her amazon tribe, the particular law states that if a man is to beat a female amazonian she has to marry that man (Ranma knocked her out with her own weapons) and if a female defeats a female amazonian, the amazon that was defeated has to track down and kill that female who beat them in combat. (Ranma beat Shampoo while he was in his girl form at Shampoo's village) And I believe that sometime in the future, Shampoo and an amazonian man, Mousse, get married. The other girl is Ukyo, another 16 yr. old girl (She's not an amazon). She dresses in the boy's uniform at her school, but... is a girl none the less. She like Shampoo can't keep her hands off Ranma, but unlike Shampoo, she doesn't have to marry Ranma, she just loves him. Eventually, at the end of the series, Ukyo marries Ryoga.
